in what i am told is a seasonal oddity in the pacific northwest, we have had really lovely fall colours... reds, yellows and oranges that just take your breath away. at a corner near my boyfriends' house there is one tree that is so perfectly yellow that to stand under it, on the blanket of leaves it has dropped, and under the canopy of leaves it's jealously holding on to, it's like being in a tunnel of sunshine. it's amazing! i have always loved the colour of the sky and the quality of the light at this time of year... despite the lengthening nights and the tumbling temperatures... there is something about fall that always makes me feel good, safe, alive.
