morning like a cathedral

it's amazing the things the sky does in the morning, it almost (*almost*) made getting up so early worth it. now out my window and below the thick blanket of cloud. safe and warm between it and the horizon i see nothing short of thousands of colours...

this cacophany of colour a gift from the morning. a small present from the sun. she woke up, chilled, like me, by the morning air. as i was wrapped up in my wool blanket, she wrapped herself against the cold in a blanket of diaphanous dark grey, nearly ominous, clouds. slow though, so slow, she let down her guard and stepped out and away from her protective layers - out of the warm of sleep and into the chill of this fall morning air; a thousand shimmering colours fighting for their place beside her. as i walked in the coloured light my breath a white cloud; wrapped in a protective layer of my own, i am reminded by the sun and the chill that i am here - i am warmth. this has to be something more than a test.
